Summer Vacation

In class, we had to write an essay about our favorite school break. Mine is summer:

I think vacation is important. Vacation gives us time to relax from school, work, or other stress. Without vacation, we would be constantly stressed and unwilling to do hard work. There are many vacations; winter, spring, October, and summer. Stress is not the only reason we have vacation, also because we can travel to places and have fun. I think summer vacation is the best vacation because it has nice weather, it is the longest, and you can travel to places around the world.

First off, summer vacation has the nicest weather out of all of the seasons. Summer has warm weather, with a nice, cool breeze. The weather is not too hot, and not too cold. Since the weather is nice, it is fun to do activities outside. Swimming and water activities are perfect in the summer because it helps cool you down. Also sports such as soccer, basketball, and baseball are popular sports because the weather is perfect for playing. There are many other things about summer vacation that are enjoyable as well. 

Next, summer is the longest of all vacations. More time during vacation, means it’s more enjoyable. If vacations are longer, we can do more things. Longer vacations give more time for people to do more activities and enjoy themselves. Longer vacations mean that people have more time to relax, meaning that they will be more ready to do work once they are back from vacation. They will be more willing to go back to working and do hard work; if they have a nice, long vacation. There is one last major thing that is enjoyable about summer vacation.

Finally, in summer we can travel to more places. Since we have more time during summer, we can travel to more places. We can travel to other countries, cities, and amusement parks. The weather is beautiful, so it’s the perfect time to travel; especially to the beach. You also don’t have to pack as much during summer because you don’t have to wear coats and heavy clothing, like winter. 

As you can see, summer vacation is the best vacation of all. There are several reasons why summer is best. Summer vacation has the best weather ever. Summer is also the longest vacation, so we can enjoy it more. During summer, we can also travel to more places. Remember, summer is the best!

My Goals for English 7

These are my goals or things I want to do this year in English: 

• I wish to become better in grammar and spelling. I will do this by paying attention in class and doing my homework efficiently.
• I could learn new words and their definitions. I will do this by going above and beyond by researching new words.
• I would  like to to have fun and educational activities, like playing word games.
• I want to do posters and fun projects, like presenting assignments about what we have read.
• It would be fun to read new and interesting books. I will do this by picking challenging books on a variety of topics for my book reports.
• I want to learn about literature and writing. I will pay attention in class.
• It would be interesting to know how to write better poems and read fascinating poems by other authors.
• I want to learn how to use complicated words in sentences in daily speech.
• I would like to to have fun!!!!
